Eduard Tolokonnikov
Eduard is a graduate of GITIS in Directing, one of Europe's premier theatre schools, where he studied under the renowned Russian director Leonid Heifetz, a direct successor of Maria Osipovna Knebel, a key collaborator of Stanislavsky.
Eduard's acting career includes roles in various acclaimed productions, including Academy of Laughter, The Assassin, Man from Podolsk, Miracle of St. Antony, Doll's House, and Moscow Cheremushky. He has performed on the stages of some of Russia’s most renowned theatres, including the legendary Moscow Art Theatre (known as MHAT Gorkogo) and Theatre Center on Strastnoy.
Mr. Tolokonnikov has also participated in numerous award-nominated and critically acclaimed productions at various Russian and international festivals, including the Russian Shakespeare Festival, the Danil Cherpansky Festival in Bulgaria, and the Prix Europa in Germany.
In 2020, Eduard moved to the United States, where soon after he founded an acting and directing laboratory in New York City, dedicated to exploring innovative methods in performance arts. Since then, he has directed world and NYC premieres, including White on White, Asteroid B-612, and his off-Broadway debut Baudelaire's Passions, further establishing his presence in the international theatre community.
